Picture

A spot on the Erie Canal in downtown Rochester, NY. This view faces south towards Court Street from the east end of the Genesee Aqueduct. Several boats turn westward through the bend going into the aqueduct, which is just out of view to the right. The towpath can be seen along the right bank of the canal, with the retaining wall lining South Avenue on the left. The stone arches of the Court Street Bridge are visible in the background.
