Daniel Mojica was born in 1999 in Mountain View, California, and was raised in various places throughout California until he was ten years old. When he was ten, he and his mother moved to Buffalo, New York, where much of his Puerto Rican family already lived. He finished his elementary and high-school education in Buffalo and in nearby Pendleton. He is currently studying chemistry at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and plans to get his master’s degree at some point in the future.

In this interview, Daniel Mojica discusses moving frequently when he was a child, how he views himself in terms of ethnicity and race, and the differences between living in the city and outside the city. He explains his relationship with his family, especially his mother, and his time at RIT. He also discusses differences between the generations of his family, his view of his Latino identity, and some family traditions.
