Carlos Andujar was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in 1988. When he was two years old he moved to Rochester, New York, with his family. He attended Henry Hudson School No. 28 for his elementary education and Monroe Middle School up until 7th grade. At this point, his parents divorced and he and his mother moved to East Rochester, where he completed his education at East Rochester Public High School. After graduating in 2006, he went to Monroe Community College for criminal justice and graduated in 2009. At the time of this interview, he is a full-time machine operator for Wegmans Food Market, as well as a union president.

In this interview, Carlos Andujar discusses his family’s history with education, his own education, and why his father came to the United States. He explains the differences between the two areas of Rochester he lived in while growing up, his experiences in college as he worked while going to school, and what his current job involves. He also discusses how he came to work at Wegmans, how he views his Puerto Rican identity, and his relationship with religion.
