A man and his family had a verbal agreement to purchase a home on a street in Brighton. Before the sale was finalized, two white residents on the street offered a higher bid on the home to prevent the African American family from moving into the neighborhood. The family filed a lawsuit to force the sale to them at the original price agreed upon.
