Dear Madam,-
May I be so presumptuous as to implore of your grace the
kindness of allowing my young relative, Elinor Gleason, to so far re-
lax her pursuit of knowledge under your invaluable tutelage that she
may arrive home this (Wednesday) afternoon, about 3 P.M. or thereabouts,
as she is to have a small party and it would conduce to the happi-
ness of her guests if she could be present to entertain them.
If this excuse does not come within the regulations, I would beg
to substitute that she is suffering from a swelled head as the result
of the February examinations and the extra time is needed to enable
me to reduce the swelling promptly.
Respectfully,
Kate Gleason.
