Dear Jim,

When I saw this old copy of our 1894
income tax report, it occurred to me it makes a
good back-ground for 1931. ’31 is not so dis-
couraging by contrast. If there is no place
to keep this in the archives, you can return it for
my museum at Clones.
I have just sent Miss Smith a $5,000
bond instead of the monthly allowance. She wrote
me the firm had sent her $1,000.
Her Father died lately, well past 90 years
old. She is postmistress at Osceola and very com-
fortably off.

Yours,

Kate.
