Dear Kate;
Your postal received.
I do not know where that note
book of Mr Warks went to. I used
it in the draughting room and it
was misplaced when the wall was
torn out. Perhaps it might be
found in the drawers of the large
drawing table. Mr Cowles and I
are rooming together in the house.
Frank Ide would not come into
the house when he heard that it
would put me out. I offerred to
take his room at McAllisters but
he wouldnt have it. Frank was
offerred a place with Eidletz and
Broughton in the house, three in a
[page 2]
room but he didnt accept.
Prof Thurston advised me to take
the regular Sophmore work so at
present I am [illegible] it hard.
Can you send me forty or fifty
dollars. Bills are so numerous
now that it requires about that
amount. My new books cost $10.
Room rent [^]for one term to be paid as soon as
possible $15. Chapter dues $5., and
furnishing a little for the room
will take some more. We take
table board at Cascadilla $4. the
same as at McAllisters. Frank Ide
evidently had a good time in
Rochester for he keeps referring
to it. He was particularly
taken with Frankie Moshier
admires her very much. Did he
keep up to the impression you
[page 3]
formed of him when you first
met. Well Frank just came in
to Study so good bye.
Yours
Jim.
P.S. We are doing well on Marx
