Letter, James Gleason to Kate Gleason
A letter to Kate Gleason from her brother, James Gleason. Jim mentions an article about fraternity rush that he wants their father to read. He asks if Kate still belongs to a gym and inquires about the status of her German club. He tells her he will be home the following week, asks for money for a deposit on next term’s board, and inquires about the job at the family’s tool shop that he will have during his upcoming school break.

Dear Kate;
Yours of Mch. 3rd received.
I hope that the article in the Sun
modified Fathers opinion on the
rush.
Have you been developing your
athletic figure all this winter,
I did not know that you still
belonged to a gymnasium class.
This time of course you do not
intend to support the resurrection
of the German Club more than by
allowing your name to be entered
on the membership roll.
I will be home about the middle

of next week, something like the 19th
if all goes well on getting out of exams.
Will you please send me $15, more
this term for we have to advance
some board on next term with our
manager, who is financially in the
soup just now on account of stock
on hand in place of cash to pay
bills with.
Have you any idea what job is
cut out for me this vacation?
Yours
Jim.
