I called on the Niles Bement
Pond Co. this morning. Mr McKinney made
a price of $8000 for the Standard 12 ft
Boring Mill weight 100 000 lbs. He says that
this is an extra low price which must be
confidential. Father agreed that anything
lower than 8500 would be satisfactory so I
told Mr McKinney He could consider it an
order.
The Lieut. in charge of the Turret racks
at the Navy Yard says that the order for
the racks for the Florida was let a week
ago. No more racks He says will be
called for in the next three years at
Brooklyn. This man for some reason is a
distinct frost for us.
I was told by the master mechanic who is
friendly that the order went to the
Bethlehem Steel Co.

Lieut Lahn the man who ordered the last
Gear Planer is friendly but He could
give no information about the racks
I will tell you about the details on Wed or
Thursday.
Tomorrow I go to Bullards and possibly
Brown & Sharpes.
Look up the Brown Cotton Gin Co where
ever they are. I hear they have ordered
a rotary Bevel Gear Cutter from G. & E.
Perhaps they might want a small
Generator.
Yours
Jim.
