We landed here last night too late to
do any business. Tomorrow morning
I will see Schuchardt & Schultz and try
to find out how many ^makes of Gear Planers they
are selling in this Territory.
I met Heinrick Dryer at Fenwicks in
Paris. He seems to be on very friendly
terms with Mr Manton.
Fox is now at Charleroi Belgium.
I have encountered one place where we are
rather up against it. Renault Freres
in Paris have one of our earlier Generators.
They also have three or four Reinicker
Bilgrams. Our machine they say is very

fast but the quality of work does not
suit them. We have changed about all
the machines of like this Renault o in
the United States like this Renault one to
the new style Roll and have added
other improvements.
Mr Manton suggests that we offer a
reduced price on a new machine
say $200. off they to keep the old one.
This would be all right if they didnt
decide to put the old machine on the
market later on.
About changing and adding improvements
over here I do not think much of it.
Fenwick have no facilities at their store,
and it would be a hard job for one of our

men to go into a shop over here and
alter a machine.
Let me know what you think of this
proposition of Mr Mantons.
It seems to me not altogether a bad
on in these bad times.
Mr Manton said that He they
still had have a 15’’ Generator
on order not shipped. How is this?
I do not remember any such order
on the book.
Miriam was glad to receive Eleanors
letter this morning. We have not heard
from Emmet in two weeks and so she
was a bit anxious.
Yours
Jim

P.S. We will be back in Paris in one
week. Glad to hear of those orders
