Dear Mom and Dad,
I received your letter and this one has
to be real short. I can’t write tomorrow for
I won’t have time. I’m on service week and
I’m in charge of twenty-five girls and we
have a cleaning detail. We have to have this
certain barracks in A – 1 condition by Monday
and it is filthy. No one has been inside
since the painters so we have a mess on
our hands. Monday I go on galley and I
dish out the food to the Waves and then
we clean up afterwards. Oh it’s a great life
if you don’t weaken. I like working for a
change but we start classes We Thursday
again.
I wrote Aunt Anna and I told her I
would call her some Sunday when I get time.
Boy are we rushed and even more so for
we’ll be Senior Companies after service
week.
Well I say goodbye for now and I’ll
write again when I get time.
Love and Kisses
Irene (over)

P.S. I had another examination and I am
in A – 1 condition. Hurray.
