Dear Mom & Dad,
That was the address I wanted.
The kid is probably wondering why I
haven’t answered her letter. So I’ll write
her after I finish your letter.
Received a letter from Henry
today and he told me about Jane writing
to them. Are they going to spend their
vacation at home?
Okay I’ll look for the skirt.
Henry said that he would be getting
the pictures between Aug 3rd & 7th. Hope
they turn out nice. After next pay day,
which is 4 Aug, I’m going to get Mike’s
birthday gift. Don’t know what to get
him yet.
I have gotten three letters from Pat
within two weeks time. It seems funny
not seeing him around.
Got a letter from Aunt Anna and
she will get here Aug 11th at 5:10pm. I met
a Chief, just the other day, and he says
that if I notify him when she comes in,

he will put her up in WOQ which is the
Wave Officers Quarters for 50 cents a day.
He’ll mark her card “civilian traveling
under orders.” I thought that was nice
of him. He can do all this without being
questioned for he works there where they
give out rooms and he is the leading
chief. I didn’t tell Aunt Anna about
it for I just found out and besides
seeing is believing. It really is too good
to be go true. She also told me that you
was telling her about my not knowing
what to do with her on dance nights. She
tells me not to worry and that I could
park her at the bar and fill her up
on ginger ale. I laughed when I read
that. I think that the fellows that I
like are on duty, that night, at the bar.
So I told them about Aunt Anna and
they said not to worry that they would
take care of her and entertain her. They are
riots! She is really anxious about
coming down here. It will be nice having
her here for a while.
We had a good thunderstorm yesterday

and today but it never cools off after-
wards. In fact it gets hotter and very muggy.
We’re having quite a bit of trouble
in the barracks since we’ve gotten a
new Master-at-Arms. She just doesn’t
know how to handle girls. Wouldn’t be
surprised if some girls went AWOL. Twenty
girls were put on report today and I
was one of them. I am not suppose to
do any work in that barracks but they
scheduled me. So I didn’t do it. I am not
going to get up at 5:00am to work there
when I get off at midnight from the club.
The Wave officer in charge of the Waves
on this base is in for a shock when she
talks to us for we all are going to enlighten
her to no end.
Guess this is all for now and
will let you know how everything turns
out concerning this trouble of ours.
Bye for now,
Love and Kisses
Irene
