Dear Mrs Conole,
Thanks very
much for the prints, they
are very good. I haven’t seen
any prints off Ferrania color
before. I think it is possible
to get them printed here but
it is terribly expensive. I
don’t know anyone that has
had any done.
I’m sorry I haven’t written
to thank you before. I seem to
have rather too many jobs on
at the moment. We are very
busy at the office right now
and we are having to work
[page 2]
over.
I’m thinking of spending
the Easter holidays in the
Yorkshire Dales, and my spare
time now I am Away making
some new and larger pammies
bags for my bike. I’m making
them of heavy canvas and
P.V.C., and what a job I am
having sewing them.
These past three weeks I
haven’t been able to use my
bike because of snow and ice
on the roads. Actually we have
been very lucky round this
area, we haven’t had it really
deep. It has been jolly cold
though.
I shall have to leave
this letter a few days. This
is the last page in the pad
[page 3]
Well, I’ve got another
pad and in the mean-time
have finished my pammies
bags. They’ll pass.
Just at the moment
I am keeping my fingers
crossed hoping that I will
be able to use them. These
past few days I have been
troubled with my old complaint.
I guess it was the cold. Any way
I’m hoping I can throw it off.
We don’t get the show
‘I Love Lucy’ over here. The
‘Burns and Allan’ show has
just been on. ‘The Stolen Car’
it was called.
[page 4]
I’ll close now. I’ve a
letter to write to Mrs Picone.
So with thanks again for the
prints.
Your sincerely,
Eric Hodgkinson
