Rochester, N.Y.,
Nov. 14, 1888.
Dear old man,
Arrived about
noon last Thursday.
The distance between here
and Ithaca is only 90 miles.
I called on your sister last
Saturday and the folks were
tickled immensely at seeing
“Jim’s chum.”
I didn’t tell them that you
and I were only intending to
room together.
Miss Michels is a dandy. She
leaves today for Detroit, I think.
I attended a euchre party at
your house last night and
got taken suddenly sick and
between that and trying to stay
and make myself agreeable,
[page 2]
I made a —- fool of my-
self and suppose everybody is
disgusted with me.
I think I shall call on the
cadets this evening if they are
at the “barracks.”
I wish I could see to-mor-
rows foot-ball game. I hope
’91 gets done up brown.
If I can arrange it perhaps
I shall drop around Thanks-
giving day.
It’s a [illegible] of a job to kill
time. I dont have more than
12 hours a day, though; I sleep
the other twelve.
Have you got a room mate
yet?
Please excuse the looks of this
sheet as I am hardly awake yet
though it is 2.15 in the afternoon.
Write soon.
Chas. Warner
