Dear Jim-
I wired you yesterday that Mr Loving
has returned the option. Kate made
the trip to Boston yesterday with this in view
and she is back today. Mr Loving stated
that his actual expenses in connection with
the proposed sale was $500, but father de-
cided to send him a check for $750 charging
$250 of this to his account. Father got a
letter from Mr Loving today in which he ex-
presses regret at this turn of affairs as he
claims to have had good prospects. He repeats
in this that all of his plans depended upon the
present management continuing with the
business. Kate evidently talked with him
about selling some preferred stock as he says
he would like to make such an arrangement
for us. Judging by the talk I have had
with father you may expect to have a proposition
on preferred stock put up to us as soon as
you get back.
Father seems to be well satisfied with the
way things are going and Kate continues to leave
us alone
Yours
Andrew.
